Project Overview
This contemporary residence explores soft geometry and sculpted form to create a calm yet architecturally distinctive street presence. Curved balcony edges, layered volumes, and restrained materiality combine to produce a refined composition that balances modern expression with residential warmth. The design prioritises proportion, light, and spatial clarity, delivering a home that feels both sophisticated and highly liveable.

Sculpted Volumes & Architectural Form
The façade composition is driven by the interaction between curved and rectilinear elements, creating visual contrast while maintaining overall cohesion. The upper-level balcony forms a dominant sculptural gesture, projecting forward to provide depth and shadow while reinforcing the horizontal layering of the building.
Material selection remains intentionally restrained, with textured render finishes, subtle tonal variation, and integrated planting softening the architectural edges. The curved forms are not decorative alone — they help guide movement, frame views, and establish a strong architectural identity without unnecessary complexity.
Proportion plays a critical role in achieving balance, with solid elements carefully offset against glazing to avoid visual heaviness. The result is a façade that feels contemporary and confident while still appropriate within its suburban context.
Spatial Hierarchy & Entry Experience
The ground level establishes a clear sense of arrival through recessed entry positioning and subtle changes in plane, creating a transition from public to private space. The pathway sequence, landscaping, and covered threshold work together to provide both shelter and spatial definition without excessive ornamentation.
Internally, the layout prioritises functional clarity, with living areas positioned to maximise light penetration and connection to outdoor spaces. The upper-level balcony extends usable living zones while also acting as passive shading to the spaces below, improving environmental performance.
Overall planning reflects a strong hierarchy between social and private zones, ensuring the home supports both family life and entertaining. The architectural language remains consistent from exterior to interior, reinforcing a cohesive and well-considered design outcome.

Projects
Our work focuses exclusively on residential architecture, ranging from custom homes and duplex developments to alterations, additions, and secondary dwellings. Each project is carefully considered in response to its site conditions, planning controls, and the specific needs of the client.
We approach every design with an emphasis on clarity of form, efficient planning, and long-term buildability. Explore a selection of our recent projects to see how these principles translate into built outcomes across a range of sites and scales.
