Project Overview
Sheffield is a contemporary two-storey residence that explores minimalist architectural form through clean geometry, restrained materiality, and strong spatial relationships between interior and exterior living. The home incorporates five bedrooms, open-plan living zones, and a private swimming pool positioned to operate as a visual and functional extension of the main living spaces, reinforcing a lifestyle-focused planning approach suited to modern family living.

Minimal Form & Architectural Identity
The architectural expression is driven by simplicity and clarity of form, using a primary framed volume to establish a strong focal element while allowing secondary components to remain visually subdued. Vertical blade elements introduce rhythm and shadow, creating depth without reliance on excessive ornamentation. This approach results in a façade that feels refined and contemporary, with proportion and alignment becoming the key visual drivers rather than decorative features.
Material selection supports this minimalist intent through a controlled palette of light masonry, darker vertical cladding, and subtle stone textures. The integration of planting within the balcony edge softens the architectural composition while maintaining the overall restraint of the design. The result is a home that presents as confident and architectural, yet calm within its suburban context.
Spatial Connection & Lifestyle Integration
A key planning move was positioning the alfresco and swimming pool as a direct continuation of the internal living areas rather than a separate outdoor zone. Expansive glazing establishes uninterrupted sightlines from inside to the pool, allowing natural light, reflections, and landscape elements to become part of the interior experience while enhancing the sense of openness across the ground floor.
The internal layout supports comfortable day-to-day living through clear spatial organisation and intuitive circulation, with private areas separated from the main living zones to maintain functionality and comfort. The relationship between kitchen, living, alfresco, and pool creates a cohesive environment suited to both family life and entertaining, ensuring the home delivers a balanced combination of practicality, openness, and visual calm.

Projects
Our work focuses exclusively on residential architecture, ranging from custom homes and duplex developments to alterations, additions, and secondary dwellings. Each project is carefully considered in response to its site conditions, planning controls, and the specific needs of the client.
We approach every design with an emphasis on clarity of form, efficient planning, and long-term buildability. Explore a selection of our recent projects to see how these principles translate into built outcomes across a range of sites and scales.
