Project Overview
A contemporary residential transformation comprising alterations and additions to the existing dwelling alongside a new secondary dwelling, designed under a Complying Development pathway. The project focuses on improving spatial functionality, modernising the architectural language, and maximising site utilisation while maintaining a clear hierarchy between primary and secondary built forms.

Planning Strategy & Site Integration
The project comprises a new two-storey dwelling, carefully arranged to optimise site orientation, privacy, and internal flow while responding to neighbouring development patterns. The planning approach prioritises clear zoning between living and accommodation areas, ensuring the home supports both family life and entertaining without spatial conflict.
Ground floor spaces are organised around an open-plan living, dining, and kitchen zone, allowing strong visual connections across the interior and towards the outdoor areas. Secondary spaces such as services and circulation are positioned efficiently along edges to maximise usable floor area and maintain a clean spatial hierarchy.
Upstairs, the bedroom accommodation is arranged to provide privacy and comfort, with generous glazing capturing outlook while maintaining appropriate separation from neighbouring properties. The overall planning demonstrates a balance between functionality, compliance, and long-term liveability.
Architectural Expression & Interior Character
The architectural expression adopts a restrained contemporary language defined by simple volumes, controlled proportions, and subtle textural contrast. The façade composition avoids excessive ornamentation, instead relying on form clarity and material transitions to create visual interest and a calm residential presence.
Internally, the design emphasises openness, natural light penetration, and neutral material palettes to create a sense of warmth and spatial continuity. Carefully positioned windows and glazing elements enhance daylight access while framing views, contributing to a comfortable and inviting living environment.
Material selections and detailing reinforce the overall design intent, combining durability with refined aesthetics suited to modern family living. The result is a cohesive architectural outcome that integrates exterior form, interior experience, and functional planning into a unified residential design.
