Project Overview
A contemporary dual occupancy designed to balance symmetry with individual identity, combining a grounded masonry base with lightweight upper forms. The architectural language focuses on proportion, material contrast, and clean roof geometry to create a refined but approachable streetscape presence. The layout prioritises functional family living while maintaining strong street engagement and privacy between dwellings.

Architectural Response
The ground level establishes a solid architectural base through face brickwork, recessed entries, and integrated garages, creating depth and shadow across the façade. Vertical elements frame each dwelling entry, reinforcing legibility and separation while maintaining overall cohesion.
Upper levels introduce a contrasting material palette with dark cladding and generous glazing, visually reducing perceived bulk. The projecting gable forms soften the massing and create identifiable volumes for each residence without compromising symmetry.
Balconies positioned to the front provide both architectural articulation and usable outdoor space, while large windows maximise daylight penetration into primary living zones. The composition maintains strong horizontal alignment across both dwellings to unify the façade.
Planning & Spatial Outcomes
Internally, the planning adopts a clear zoning strategy with living spaces located at ground level and private accommodation above. Circulation is efficient and direct, supporting practical day-to-day family use while maintaining spatial separation between functions.
Upper floor bedrooms are oriented to capture outlook and natural light, with raked ceiling opportunities introduced beneath the gable forms to enhance spatial quality. The planning also supports cross-ventilation and passive environmental performance.
Landscape integration reinforces the architectural intent through low-maintenance planting and defined entry pathways, softening the built form while maintaining clear sightlines to each front door. The overall outcome delivers a cohesive, functional dual occupancy suited to contemporary suburban living.

Projects
Our work focuses exclusively on residential architecture, ranging from custom homes and duplex developments to alterations, additions, and secondary dwellings. Each project is carefully considered in response to its site conditions, planning controls, and the specific needs of the client.
We approach every design with an emphasis on clarity of form, efficient planning, and long-term buildability. Explore a selection of our recent projects to see how these principles translate into built outcomes across a range of sites and scales.
