Project Overview
This contemporary dual occupancy project was designed to maximise spatial quality, natural light, and functional family living within a compact suburban context. The architectural approach focuses on clean geometry, refined materiality, and strong indoor–outdoor connections, creating two high-quality residences that balance privacy with modern lifestyle requirements.
Contemporary Form & Spatial Planning
The architectural language is defined by simple rectilinear forms, layered volumes, and a restrained palette of light and dark finishes to create visual depth across the façade. Vertical timber screening elements soften the built form while providing privacy to upper-level spaces, contributing to a refined streetscape presence.
Internally, the planning strategy prioritises openness and spatial flow, with expansive living zones organised around a central kitchen hub. Double-height voids and strategically placed skylights introduce abundant natural light, enhancing the perception of volume and creating a strong architectural focal point within the main living area.
The layout carefully balances shared family spaces with private retreat areas, ensuring long-term functionality for modern family living.
Indoor–Outdoor Living & Material Expression
A key design objective was the seamless transition between interior and exterior environments. Large glazed openings connect the living spaces to a covered alfresco entertaining area, extending the usable footprint of the home and supporting year-round outdoor living.
The interior material palette combines warm timber tones with crisp white surfaces and subtle stone textures, delivering a contemporary yet timeless aesthetic. Custom joinery, integrated storage solutions, and carefully detailed finishes contribute to a cohesive architectural outcome across all spaces, from kitchen and living areas to bedrooms and bathrooms.
Landscaping and outdoor areas were designed to complement the architecture while maintaining low-maintenance usability, ensuring the homes function effectively for both everyday living and entertaining.
